Introduction

Peto Ltd has developed a serviced-software application to help NHS Trusts save money in purchasing medical supplies and commodity items. We have developed the Peto Process, supported by our own web-based Procurement Administration Database (PAnDa) which, in real time, delivers cost saving opportunities on multiple purchases. By applying our approach to many such items, which aggregate to millions of pounds in value, we can deliver hundreds of thousands of pounds of savings to the NHS Trust every year.

Peto is developing and delivering the Peto Process in partnership with Barts Health NHS Trust (Barts), the country’s largest acute NHS Trust.

Peto has established two teams:

  • the Procurement Team delivering our services from (i) our NHS site(s) and (ii) Peto’s Shrewsbury office; and
  • the Back of House Team, based in the Shrewsbury office, which is running systems and company administration.

We are seeking a full-time Account Manager with experience of working in the NHS, based in London and the South East:

  • to manage the existing relationship between Peto and Barts across commercial and service issue resolution; and
  • to assist in securing, implementing and managing Peto’s contracts with the next NHS Trusts.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Managing the Barts customer account across all stakeholders, principally with the Deputy Director of Procurement and occasionally with the Director of Procurement
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Developing long term savings plans
  • Routine reporting against these savings plans including financial aspects and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensuring that the CRM plan is accurate and reflects the customer work plan and savings forecast
  • Supporting Trust Cost Improvement Plans (CIP), Sustainability & Transformation Plans (STP), Cost Avoidance Targets
  • Identifying, developing and converting opportunities for savings
  • Stakeholder management of Trust personnel including buyers, requisitioners, clinicians, administrators and managers
  • Acting as project and account lead, drawing on the expertise across Peto to facilitate cross functional co-ordination and delivery to the Trust
  • Daily management of Peto’s Procurement Team at Barts
  • Profit and Loss Responsibility for contribution from this contract:

o Setting and reviewing budgets and sales forecast

o Managing costs

o Reporting: daily, weekly and monthly reports, including Board reports

o Forecasting and tracking key account metrics (e.g. quarterly and annual projections)

  • Communicating the progress of monthly/quarterly/annual initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Converting operational objectives into work regimes for the Procurement Team
  • Process development and process management
  • Supporting Peto’s Business Development and Sales activities in securing new contracts, then taking responsibility for implementation
  • Contributing to short and long term organisational planning and strategy

Reporting

  • Matrix Reporting to Head of Sales and Head of Operations (when appointed). Until such time, reporting to the Managing Director.
  • Serving as a member of the Peto Senior Management Team with close liaison with: FD, Procurement Manager and Systems Manager

Qualifications and experience required

  • Educated to degree level (open to graduates from all degree disciplines)
  • Procurement, Sales, Marketing, IT and Customer Services experience.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ account management experience and will be accomplished in:

  • Customer relationship management
  • Managing profit and loss - commercial management - able to develop budgets and business case(s); and able to work with data (analysis and presentation)

Additional information:

  • Contract type: Full time
  • Normal working hours: Thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hours per week, excluding breaks
  • Overtime: is not paid, you will be expected to manage work assignments in order to complete your work within normal working hours
  • Holiday entitlement: Twenty-eight (28) days per annum, including the statutory UK public holidays. The holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December
