Working with Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Category Manager to join their team of staff in the Procurement department with a focus on Capital & Indirect procurement.

This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. This position is offered on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract Basis.

Duties of this role include:
To lead and manage the strategic sourcing and contract management of a portfolio of Capital equipment, infrastructure, associated services, and indirects categories with an annual spend in excess of £95m
To deliver significant cost savings against agreed targets whilst maintaining required levels of service.
To develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned to business requirements
To manage relationships with key suppliers and drive incremental benefit and services through SRM
To actively engage key stakeholders and build good working relationships seeking to drive cost out, and find value added business opportunities

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience as a Category Manager.
MCIPS (desirable) with strong competence and technical capability in all aspects of professional strategic procurement
Proven track record in complex Indirects and or capital equipment and services procurement.
Excellent negotiation skills
Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing comprehensive category strategies aligned to business requirements.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at any one time within a fast paced, results driven environment
Working knowledge of specifying and contracting complex service level agreements, with a demonstrable legal knowledge of contract law, applied to goods and services.
Demonstrable track record in leading/managing staff, achieving savings and influencing people of all levels
