Our client has a vacancy for a Lead Auditor, reporting to the Audit Manager. The role is to assess the level and effectiveness of processes and controls used within the insurance industry. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities will primarily include:

  • Performing audits at Insurers’ premises and as such will involve a elements of travel.

  • Identifying risks, developing and evaluating controls and reporting on the effectiveness of those controls.

  • Developing suitable recommendations for any deficiencies identified, negotiating suitable corrective actions from Insurers’ management and facilitating their implementation.

  • Producing confidential Executive reports as directed by the Audit Manager.

  • Representing the business at internal and external stakeholder meetings


  • Proven audit experience.

  • Awareness of topical governance, fraud, financial, legal and regulatory issues including FSA ICOBs and data protection.

  • A highly self-motivated person working with minimal direction, displaying a high level of credibility and responsibility.

  • Excellent report writing, analytical and presentation skills.

  • Good knowledge of audit and office-based software.

  • A thorough knowledge of Corporate Governance practices.

  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence at a high level.
