Here at Jones Bootmaker in Wimbledon, we are currently looking for a positive and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to support our Store Managers with all aspects of running the store and taking on the Store Managers responsibilities in their absence. We believe the role is one that is important in our organisation and comes with great responsibilities but also variety. One of the key aspects of the role is people management, working closely with the Store Manager and Supervisors to ensure that daily tasks in the store are carried out properly and effectively, and the team are motivated, engaged and working to the best of their ability.
Some of the duties of our Assistant Manager include making sure sales targets are met, overall performance of the store is where it needs to be, organising staff rotas, making sure staff’s hours are recorded properly so staff get paid correctly and managing a diverse group of people all with their own working styles, issues and needs, helping with recruitment and training of staff in store,
So what do we require from our Assistant Manager?
Proven management experience in a retail or hospitality environment, an inspirational leader who can manage, lead and loves developing others, a team player, approachable, confident, passionate, able to bring fresh new idea’s to the table, sales driven, motivated with excellent attention to detail, excellent customer service and communication skills, flexible to work evening and weekends and also be able to take on extra hours as required. As a senior member of the team you are often the one who has to solve problems and deal with the more challenging customers, particularly on days when the Store Manager is absent. We hope you agree this is not a bad thing but instead highly rewarding as it’s a step in the direction to running your own store, and we like our staff to grow with the business so we will support and develop you to progress.
This opportunity is working 40 hours per week on a permanent contract on a salary of between £18,000 and £19,000 per annum, along with the following benefits:
