JOB TITLE: GENERAL/HOME MANAGER

SALARY: £70k + 20% Performance Related Bonuses

LOCATION: Guildford, Surrey

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management and success of the home. Success is measured through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including, but not limited to, financial results, customer satisfaction, team engagement, regulatory compliance and care quality as measured by our own internal Compliance Audit Programme as well as our Departmental Guidelines.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered to each resident within the home and that activities, housekeeping and catering services are consistently excellent. The General Manager manages the Head of Department for each of these functions. Engagement with residents and their families, and responding promptly to their queries and concerns, is ultimately the General Manager's responsibility. Ensuring compliance with our policies, practices and procedures with regard to the standard of care is of paramount
importance as is ensuring they are implemented correctly. The General Manager must aspire to achieve an excellent relationship with and report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) setting the standard for senior care 24 General Manager Departmental Guidelines.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

ESSENTIAL:
* General management experience
* Previous experience in the healthcare or long-term care industry
* Prior sales experience is desirable
* Clinical or medical knowledge is desirable
* Managing large teams of people
* Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Strong planning and organisational skills
* Good communication skills
* The ability to build rapport with people, and display empathy and sensitivity where
appropriate
* Passion for service to the elderly
