Our client has a vacancy for a Developer, reporting to the Operations Project Manager. The purpose of this position is to design and develop applications.

Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing business design documents and participating in design workshops
• Creating functional specifications/technical designs that have completed the necessary quality assurance and approval process
• Developing applications and software components that comply with the functional/technical specifications and have completed the necessary quality assurance process and comply with the appropriate standards for coding, security and compliance
• Supporting various in-house applications / websites
• Effectively managing customer expectations
• Providing advice and guidance to the support functions where technical issues require developer input to resolve
• Keeping up to date with technology and development languages

The successful candidate must already meet level 5 of the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF). This equates to: Certificates of Higher Education, Foundation Degree, ITIL v3 Level 5 Diploma (Master), Level 5 Prince 2 Practitioner or the ILM5 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring or Management/Service Improvement

Skills and knowledge
• Awareness of industry standard development lifecycles and best practice testing
• Knowledge of industry standard technology
• An appreciation of project management methodology
• Knowledge of code management applications e.g. SourceSafe
• Proven experience of developing applications using the following technologies: IIS6/7.5, ASP.Net, SQL Server 2008/2012, SSAS/SSIS, Javascript/JQuery, CSS and HTML
• Experience in supporting and maintaining Umbraco CMS websites
• Self-reliant with well-developed communication, analytical, organizational and administrative skills
• Ideally you will have experience with XML Web Services and OS/400 CL
