Senior Digital Project Manager

Milton Keynes

£40,000 - £50,000 Salary is negotiable depending on experience


To define, plan, coordinate and deliver web-based and digital media projects (which may include integrated elements i.e. traditional print media where there is a bias towards web / digital /data solutions).

You will plan and manage and control the full project life cycle, liaising with specialist knowledge holders within the business to include;

  • Project initiation

  • Solution definition

  • Functional Specification

  • Project plan production

  • Project kick-off

  • Issue resolution

  • Risk management

  • Change management

  • Project progress and financial reporting

  • Resource management

  • Planning UAT

  • Internal and external client communication and support

  • Project team communication

    Work Experience


  • Demonstrable experience of building, managing and leading a multi-disciplined team and project managing enterprise solutions with multiple stakeholders and specialist service providers
  • Solid technical understanding of CMS, web and data management systems
  • Experience within an agency environment
  • Proven computer skills and literacy, including MS Project and Excel
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - internal and client facing
  • Project Professional Certification
  • Demonstrable experience of successful project management and delivery of large digital projects
  • Understanding and knowledge of online technologies and digital channel marketing, including ecommerce, SEO, PPC, Email marketing, and social media demonstrated over a range of digital projects with the ability to relay technical information in a client friendly way
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness, including the importance of planning, forecasting and managing and minimising risk to retain profit margins.
  • Demonstrable experience of budget management and project costing
  • Experience of writing business documentation
  • Knowledge of writing and testing against user acceptance test plans


  • Knowledge of and experience of working to the ISO 9001 quality standard
  • Prince 2 practitioner certification an advantage
  • Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy and best practice.
  • Previous experience of commercial client development

Your core responsibilities are to :

  • Primarily to manage, plan, execute and deliver digital solution projects working alongside the client and relevant Account Services team member(s).

  • Understand the client relationships, organisational needs, brand, sector, strategy and objectives in order to provide context to client requirements and briefs and know where their business will be going in the future and how you can help take them there.

  • Maintain regular client contact, answer queries and questions from clients, provide updates and chase internal/external/client stakeholders for outstanding project tasks/content.

  • To guide and lead colleagues, contractors and suppliers alike, offering support and advice when needed.

  • To mentor junior members of the team and other staff as necessary.

  • Provide support defining, planning and executing a variety of projects across other traditional and digital media as required.

  • To brief and manage creative and development teams clearly as required.

  • To lead and coordinate activity across several projects at a time and between the respective teams, ensuring efficient use of people and other resources.

  • Work with Production to;

    • provide clear planning and resource requirements to Production that avoid resource conflicts against the work schedule

    • ensure all project plans are 'booked in;’ and;

    • bookings are monitored and managed with updates communicated to Production in a timely manner.

  • To work with the respective teams to establish effective estimates.

  • To facilitate accurate proposals, working with all required personnel (technical designers/graphic designers). Proposals to state precisely what will be delivered and when with exclusions and dependencies clearly defined.

  • To propose and maintain project plans and milestones that impact on deliverables, schedules and budget alongside all stakeholders and other staff resource (including planning around the holiday plan) and communicate on minimum weekly basis.

  • Provide clear planning and resource requirements to Production.

  • To uphold the Project Management internal methodology and quality processes.

  • Provide a structure within your project management approach that will successfully translate client requirements into management briefs and proposal specifications.

  • Demonstrate, monitor and evaluate flexible contingency procedures that forecast and manage the accepted levels of risk and estimate a limited allowance for changes and alterations.

    General responsibilities of the role

  • Uphold the Project Management internal methodology and quality processes.

  • Be part of the pitch team as required when presenting new business or a new project to the client.

  • Work with the Head of Project Management to continually review, improve and maintain all areas of project management as a business discipline and the full project life cycle.

  • Work alongside colleagues including the QA to monitor, evaluate and improve quality issues across the project team and where applicable within other departmental teams (continuous improvement).

Administration/Quality Processes

  • To actively support Quality Procedures to ensure we are ISO 9001/2015 compliant.

  • To work with the Head of Production to continually assess the existing project methodology with the business, and other methodologies as appropriate.
