Analyst - Real Estate Performance Management

Central London

£40,000 to £45,000 (plus benefits/ bonus)

WSS Associates is working on behalf of a leading global investment manager focused on infrastructure and real estate. They manage over $7bn of equity capital in multiple private and listed funds, primarily for institutional investors across the globe. Since inception they have invested in more than 250 transactions and launched 15 funds.

The position

The position is in the European real estate finance team, which is responsible for real estate performance management in addition to investment structuring; sourcing, negotiation and management of investment debt; financial risk hedging strategies and monitoring; and internal and external reporting of financial, banking and operational performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reporting on project and fund forecasts, including assisting the asset management and origination teams in the preparation of business plan update and asset realisation papers, quarterly asset valuations and investment fair values, investment track record and ad-hoc performance reports to investors.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have a professional finance or real estate qualification and will have approximately 3 - 5 years’ prior experience working in a commercial environment, ideally with exposure to real estate and/ or fund management activities. Exposure to the following areas would be of benefit:

  • real estate private equity principles and performance measurement;
  • private equity fund structures, including distribution waterfall mechanisms;
  • excel modelling skills applied in forecasting;
  • real estate valuation principles and dynamics;
  • real estate accounting principles, including understanding the inter-relationship of real estate cashflows with a project’s profit and loss account and balance sheet; and
  • report writing and presentation
