Due to growth our client has vacancies for Data Service Officers. The role holders will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting the activities of allocated business sub committees.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining the allocated committees’ Terms of Reference (ToR)

  • Ensuring the committee fulfils its purpose against its ToR

  • Working with the Chair of allocated sub committees, support staff and secretariat, facilitating meeting dates, times, location and agree agendas

  • Ensuring actions are captured, agreed and progressed and reported back to the committee

  • Researching and providing guidance/reports/options relating to issues raised by committee members, using agreed budget where appropriate to obtain internal or third party advice

  • Producing committee reports for the Board, making sure Board decisions required by the committee are clearly set out

  • Ensuring relevant business documentation (policies and procedures) are up to date

  • Ensuring operational risks are considered and captured by committees to manage the reputation of the business professionally

  • Assisting with the production of relevant communications for stakeholders

  • Liaising with other Data Service Officers and staff to ensure committee and Board work is progressed

The successful candidate must already have level 6 of the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF). This equates to a degree or an ACII Level 6.

In addition to this we require:

  • Proven operational management experience, including business development

  • Experience of working in an external facing customer service environment, preferably for an insurer/broker or software house provider, with exposure to consumer or business drivers

  • 3 years’ insurance industry and/or insurance service provision background preferred

  • A general working knowledge and understanding of Insurance Claims Practices and industry processes particularly in regard to motor insurance claims

  • Ability to analyse data and produce logical, well thought through recommendations for committees and, where appropriate, Board, to make informed decisions

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Able to demonstrate leadership, organisational and motivational skills

  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
