Our client have a a team of more than 1,300 colleagues working to provide affordable housing, care and support and community regeneration services.

They have been very busy and successful in securing the opportunity to provide services to the local community and they are on the hunt for some fresh talent to join their team and be instrumental in their success.

They are currently seeking an experienced Area Manager to command part of their Older Persons, Housing with Support - London division, specifically overseeing their r Extra Care services. You will manage approximately 14 sites across London and the surrounding areas, including both registered and unregistered services with scope that this will grow over the next few years.As an Area Manager you will use strategic
relationship management skills to not only retain the current services we provide into the community but also proactively engage new opportunities. You will work closely with multi-stakeholders including Commissioners and other Local Government representatives to develop and progress your area. 

An effective people and task manager, you will effectively ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and business requirements, while delivering excellent, personalised, value for money services to customers. Provide effective staff, financial and resource management to ensure commercial viability and strengthen our clients market position

About the role:

Develop and remodel services to win and promote new business and raise the profile of care and support services and the Metropolitan offer to customers.
Develop, deliver and report on operational plans with key stakeholders for designated service areas to evidence high quality service delivery.
Lead, develop and manage the performance of the team so that it functions as a cohesive, high performing team, which achieves targets, standards and continuous improvement in service performance.
Ensure customer and staff engagement in the development and implementation of business processes to ensure they meet changing requirements.
Lead by example to ensure that care, support and housing services provided adhere to business standards associated with core business disciplines.
Ensure customers are involved in shaping the care and support services they require.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders, to strengthen Metropolitan`s reputation as a leading housing, care and support provider.
Promote and embed a coaching approach that encourages innovation, creativity and problem solving and maximises customer satisfaction.
Develop, monitor and manage service income and expenditure budgets effectively, to meet contract and business requirements, ensure viability and maintain excellent standards of service delivery.
Maintain awareness of all relevant commercial risks, opportunities and contingencies required for designated services and develop plans to ensure business efficiency and continuity.
Gather market intelligence and customer insight to identify opportunities for innovation and new business, which add value to Metropolitan`s customer offer.
Use sector best practice and feedback from commissioners, stakeholders and regulators to develop innovative solutions to changing customer and business needs.
Contribute to service development projects, implement and embed change, using clear communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution.

About you:

You will have extensive experience managing regulated services.
You will have extensive experience working closely with commissioners to negotiate, report and develop new services.
You will have good knowledge of Extra Care and older person`s services.
You will be an excellent communicator toward staff and our customer audience.
You will have experience of managing significant business activity at a senior level in support and /or care services. 
You will have a proven track record of managing excellent service delivery and development.
You will have experience of operational planning and project management. 
You will have the ability to solve problems, manage complex issues and deal with potential crises.
You must have experience of allocating and managing large budgets.
