Are you passionate about managing corporate events and conferences?

Our client is currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Hotel Events Manager to join their company on a permanent basis based in London.

As an Events Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing corporate events and conferences to make sure that they are planned and executed without fault. Based within the hotel/venue the role will encompass many aspects of sales, account management, administration, customer care, technical support and maintenance.

Key responsibilities for the Events Manager:

  • Be the main point of contact for clients on a day to day basis to ensure customer expectations and requirements are fulfilled

  • You will work alongside technicians to prepare equipment prior to events and be available on-site for ad hoc technical issues

  • Pro-actively contact clients in advance to their event to develop and build on sales potential and interpret technical solutions

  • Build and manage a portfolio of set designs and visuals enabling the client to visualise possibilities for a conference or event

  • Maximise sales opportunity by upselling services at every opportunity

  • Develop a database of clients who have visited the hotel/venue. Proactively correspond with clients after their event to pursue future business

  • Monitor competitor activity and where possible approach clients with the view of targeting for future activity

  • Delegate technical responsibility to on-site technician, ensuring all duties are achieved within the deadline

  • Excellent relationship building skills with all levels of a business

  • Strong people management skills

  • The ability to delegate work to achieve set timescales

  • A creative approach to problem solving

  • Proven experience working within corporate hotels

  • Strong sales experience, including the ability to upsell where appropriate

  • Technical experience with AV equipment such as lighting and sound
