An exciting opportunity for a Technical Project Manager ideally with infrastructure experience. You will work for a Travel business that provides crucial services to millions of people across the country. You will be working for a company which grew organically over the past 30 years and is now London Stock Exchange listed (FTSE 250). They employ 25,000+ staff and still growing. Main accountabilities of the role:

  1. Project Manage the implementation of a significant VoIP (Voice Over IP Telephony) project, comprising 1,000 users over 190 sites
  2. Working with the GAG VoIP Programme Manager and LSER IT Manager to coordinate the project within the overall GAG/LSER IT programme of works
  3. Review all project documentation and conduct the necessary LSER Project meetings
  4. Facilitate conference calls and/or on site meetings for key milestones
  5. Working with 3rd party and internal resources to deliver site surveys and data capture, to enable successful site network and VoIP planning activities
  6. Work effectively with contractors and vendors in managing the installation of hardware, software and any necessary IT infrastructure/ plant and equipment
  7. Coordinate with GAG/LSER internal resources and external 3rd parties to ensure delivery of relevant IT infrastructure and VoIP services, necessary to support a successful migration from legacy RailNet to L3 VCT VoIP solution
  8. Management and control of Project Budget
  9. Delivery of effective communications, setting delivery expectations across senior business stakeholders / sponsors / suppliers
  10. PRINCE2 project management capabilities to produce quality documentation, status reporting to the Group IT Programme Manager/LSER and GAG PM Office, adhering to internal guidelines and methodology
  11. Establishing and maintaining strong governance throughout project lifecycle
  12. Chairing Project Board meetings


  • Qualified to degree standard or equivalent
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN or VoIP implementations
  • Working with 3rd parties to deliver IT implementations in a multisite environment
  • Experience of delivering IT projects within a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Possess good organisational, project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
