Finance Systems Analyst

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a leading law firm based in Central London.

THE ROLE:

The Finance Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting a wide number of system focussed functions within the Finance Department working closely with IT and other support functions.

- To support and work closely with the Accounts Team to ensure the efficient performance of the firm’s financial system and all associated products.
- To operate as a super-user, encouraging and promoting the training and empowerment of other finance users, and to help develop business processes and systems, including gathering requirements and specifications for any systems changes or enhancements.
- To be responsible for regular processes and tasks which maintain the data integrity and delivery of existing reports.
- Determine how and where to find required reporting information from different areas of the firm and systems.
- To resolve system queries from the Accounts Team and promote better use of existing applications.
- To run reports in response to ad-hoc requests for information.
- To provide support to the Director of Finance and the Accounts Team, working jointly on month-end and year-end closure processes, and the formatting and development of Monthly Management reports.
- To work closely with the IT Team on systems related issues affecting the functioning or performance of the PMS.
- To liaise with the supplier’s support team to ensure that any issues that cannot be dealt with in-house are resolved within service level agreements.
- Operate as a systems and project supporter, super-user and training resource during the implementation of any changes or projects.
- Support ongoing projects.

THE PERSON:

- Experienced user of Aderant Expert PMS, or an equivalent package.
- Understanding of law firm cashiering or accounting procedures as well as an understanding of underlying financial processes undertaken in a professional services firm.
- Understanding of database tables and writing queries using SQL and reporting tools.
- Strong Excel skills and deep knowledge of SQL and SSRS plus the ability to build and organise complex reports.
- Previous experience of implementing business systems and relevant analysis skills.

Desired

- Knowledge and experience of the Aderant Expert report writing and customisation toolkit (or equivalent system).
- Knowledge or experience of Intapp and Interaction.

- Excellent teamwork and relationship building skills with ability to deal with Partners, Fee Earners and clients at all levels.
- Positive, customer service focussed attitude.
