Data Analyst, Credit Risk EMEA

Working as part of the Credit Risk team for PayPal in EMEA. The successful candidate will be performing analysis on the consumer credit portfolios in the UK and Germany, building automated reporting solutions and assessing the performance of in market strategies. Responsibilities will extend across the full life cycle of the customer from acquisition, customer management and Collections, providing an ideal environment to learn and have a genuine influence over risk management strategies.

Key tasks will include:

  • Providing datasets and analysis to understand evolving trends in the portfolio and specific strategies
  • Building regular automated reports to provide ongoing monitoring
  • Data governance checks to ensure that the data being used are accurate and align with source systems
  • Assessing the performance of credit risk strategies and providing recommendations for improvements
  • Production of regular MI to senior management as part of the monthly reporting cycle, ensuring that all data elements are accurate and consistent with other teams

Education required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or similar

Skills and abilities required:

  • Strong analytical skills including a proven ability to draw insight out of complex and broad datasets
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Tableau, Qlikview, Business Objects etc), databases (SQL, SAS etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Team worker, responsible , delivery-oriented
  • Ability to Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Experience required:

  • Experience working with credit risk data in a lending business is a big plus
