Bookkeeper / Office Manager - Flexible Hours - Hertford

East Herts Signs is a well established, family run business with years of collective experience and a sterling reputation. Now second generation owned, we are revamping and expanding our workspace while modernising our systems.
We are looking for a well rounded, tech-savvy bookkeeper with experience in modern accounting software such as Xero and Receipt Bank.
Our current accounts manager will be leaving in the new year, but the position will be available for handover before Christmas.
Compensation (negotiable hours): £20,000
Who we are looking for:
The qualities we are looking for in a candidate account for at least 80% of the requirements. The most important of which are:

80% of these qualities will be rooted in our company culture as we start to shift our values. The technical abilities are secondary. Xero can be easily taught with regular training from our accountant.
This role is varied as we are a small team of 8 people (which sometimes requires expanding your skill set beyond general bookkeeping and office management).
- Supplier Payments
- Ordering office supplies
- Authorising staff purchases and supply requests
- Producing financial reports
- Re-categorising purchases
- Helping build a foolproof bookkeeping process/system
- Taking phone calls and resolving small issues
- Debt management
