My client are a global manufacturing company designing and manufacturing products. My clients team members are passionate, driven and up for a challenge and are looking for a procurement manager to support up there operational team.
The procurement manager will form part of the growth strategy and will play a crucial part in the development of the business whereby the ideal candidate will deliver significant change and improvement.
Location - Portsmouth
Salary - £45000
The responsibilities for the purchasing manager will be -
Be part of a team who are commencing the journey of change. You will be driving projects that move the needle converting our business model from a push to pull system
You will have the responsibility for delivering results and improvement (TCO, OTIF and lead-time, supplier rationalisation, inventory and quality). Responsible for the purchasing of all raw materials and services to safeguard customer requirements
Reduce supplier base via preferred suppliers / supplier partnerships. Help drive to maximize efficiency and contribute to general administration and cost reduction
Meet Suppliers across multiple geographical locations
Establish, implement and manage system to evaluate, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance. You will lead the purchasing team to deliver Quarterly Business reviews with key suppliers. You will manage supplier Audits from an operational capability standpoint.
Liaising with engineering to identify areas of standardisation and optimal design solutions for procurement.
Coordinate with cross functional business teams to develop the best economic strategy for production planning to support customer demand.
Develop and Introduce a Sales and Operations Planning Process
Lead and develop a team of people who have the will to change, passion and drive to succeed.

Degree or equivalent purchasing qualification
Experience in leading group-wide indirect materials procurement activities, such as, but not limited to, sourcing, cost evaluation, risk mitigation and framework agreements
Experience with integrating suppliers into a business
Strong numerical skills with the ability to create and analyse data
Excellent IT skills
Project Management experience
This role would suit a procurement manager, purchasing manager, procurement leader, or procurement team leader.
