Leading specialist distributor of plumbing, bathroom and kitchen products seeks an experienced Area Sales Manager / Key Account Manager looking to make a true impact for a market leader.

BASIC: £25,000 - £35,000

JOB SPECIFICATION: Area Sales Manager / Key Account Manager

As part of our continued sales team expansion, we are currently looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager. As a totally new position within the sales structure, your role as Area Sales Manager will be to take responsibility for dealing with independent DIY Retailers and Builders/Plumbers Merchants and Key Accounts within a defined territory focussed in the South West.

In addition to maximising the profitable sales of an extensive range of both branded and own label products to an existing and new client base, you will be responsible for, but not restricted to the following tasks:-

* Develop and implement an effective sales call cycle from existing sales data; ensuring all existing accounts are covered efficiently.
* Development of new business from both dormant accounts and new customers.
* Introduce and promote all new products/brands that the company sells.
* Build strong working relationship with both customers and suppliers (via joint visits and promotions) to ensure products are delivered to the customer on time and at optimum price and margin.
* Drive sales through the implementation of “in-store displays” /concessions to maximise visual impact.
* Work closely with other Area Sales Managers, Buying and Marketing Departments to promote the company and brands represented.
* Provide feedback and communicate on local market trading conditions to the management team.

REQUIREMENTS: Area Sales Manager / Key Account / Regional Sales Manager

Ideally you will have either previous territory management experience or account management experience, with knowledge of converting sales data into an effective call plans and sales strategies. We are open on your background and sector experience as long as you are genuinely competitive, enjoy working in a team environment and have the emotional intelligence to work with a range of different stakeholders on a day to day basis.

We will also consider applications from field sales professional with job titles such as Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager, Sales Executive, Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager, Major Account Management or similar selling B2B to the retail, wholesale, distributors, and/or cash and carry customers.
