SALARY: £22,023 - £37,496 for Permanent Science Teacher Contracts. £130 - £160 per day for a Long-Term Supply Position *PLUS THE EDUCATION NETWORK BONUS AS OUTLINED BELOW*
KEY STAGES: Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS3 and KS4)

A remarkable feature of the school is their extensive Study Visits Programme. All Year 7 pupils take
part in a cross-curricular study visit to Belgium. The other year groups are able to choose from over
eighteen home to home exchanges together with specialised study visits at Sixth Form level including international work placements.

THE ROLE - SCIENCE TEACHER
As a Science Teacher at this high-achieving school you will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) students. The successful Science Teacher will be required to plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons that captivate the attention of the high-achieving and well behaved students at the school.
The Science department is staffed by a dedicated team of well-qualified and specialist teachers, and a team of technicians led by a management team under the overall direction of the Head Of Department.
The Head of Department has overall responsibility for all key stages and for the vision and ethos of the department, for curriculum development and staff development needs.
Other co-ordinators in the department take responsibility for Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The Science department offer a range of extra-curricular activities, including science club, rocket club and G&T Science workshops. Pupils are also given the opportunity to take part in national competitions, including the Physics Olympiad. The Science department also organises a number of trips, including Tilbury Power Station, Colchester Zoo and the use of Analytical Chemistry equipment at Britvic.

TEACHER SPECIFICATION
The Education Network are looking for Science Teachers who hold QTS or QTLS or are currently completing their Initial Teacher Training within a Science based discipline. This position is open to Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT) or experienced Science teachers. You will be a Science Teacher with a proven track record of raising attainment levels across the 11-18 age range. Your subject knowledge for Science will be extremely strong and you will have the ability to stretch academically gifted students. You will be a Science Teacher with a positive outlook, a dedicated and hard-working attitude and someone who is happy to get involved with extra-curricular activities at the school.
