A well established PMLD School in Richmond are looking for an LSA to work alongside their classroom teachers to assist with the smooth running of the school day.

You will be working with children on a 1-2-1 and group basis and will be responsible for ensuring that they are able to enjoy both learning and play in a supportive and caring environment. The school provides a rich curriculum and has an excellent reputation for its' positive and proactive approach to learning and child development.

The school aims to provide a warm and nurturing environment to all its pupils as well as to provide the guidance and support which enables children to build confidence, self-esteem, independence, tolerance and respect for others

In order to be considered for the role of LSA, successful applicants must have previous experience of working within a Special School, ideally working with children with PMLD or SLD. The children in school do face significant challenges and LSA's must be prepared to assist and work with the children. This will include personal care. You may also be required to lift and hoist pupils so previous manual handling experience is desirable.

In order to be considered for the role of LSA, successful applicants must have either have previous experience of working within an SEN school or have worked as a carer to children with Special Needs and have some experience within an education setting.
