My client is rapidly expanding and they are now looking for professional retail staff to join their team. They are rated in the Top 100 companies to work for and the career opportunities are second to none

They will also consider excellent telesales, telemarketing or recruitment sales, in fact, any consultative / advisory sales which involves interaction with the customer, (Not just taking the money)

Bedroom and furniture showroom sales or mobile phone sales or working for one of the Top 3 DIY companies

This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking for career progression as you could be promoted within a year to 18 months if you shine

Please note these positions are working retail hours. The showroom is open between 8am and 10pm Monday to Friday so you will be working a shift within these hours. At weekends the store is open up to 6pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday. You will be working 5 days on and 2 days off

Job Overview

Working as part of a sales team along with the Assistant Manager and the Showroom Manager you are responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations. Key being to provide an outstanding, professional customer shopping experience to all customers and to make sales both face to face and over the telephone in-line with your quarterly KPI’s/Targets. You will be responsible for handling customer service enquiries relating to any returns, exchanges and collections.

Roles and Responsibilities

Sales

  • Achieving/exceeding in store KPI’s/Targets put in place by up-selling and cross-selling.
  • Achieving/exceeding phone KPI’s/Targets put in place by up-selling and cross-selling.

Customer Service

  • Greeting customers who enter the store.
  • Assisting shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for.
  • Delivering all round excellent customer service and ensuring customers have a great shopping experience.
  • Responsible for dealing with customer complaints with the support of your management team.
  • Answering queries from customers both in-store and over the phone.
  • Giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers.
  • Handling returns, exchanges and collections.

Processing & Reporting

  • Working within established guidelines.
  • Sales order processing.
  • Being responsible for processing cash and card payments.
  • Reporting discrepancies and problems to the supervisor.
  • Relief key holding in the absence of management.

General

  • Keeping the store clean & tidy, this may include cleaning at times.
  • Attaching price tags to merchandise on the shop floor.
  • Receiving and storing the delivery of any stock.
  • Keeping up to date with special promotions and putting up displays.

Skills and Competencies

  • Assistants should be physically fit as they will be on their feet for a large part of the day and involves lifting.
  • You should have a comprehensive understanding of your area of sales i.e. retail, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, equipment etc.
  • Able to work as part of a sales team.
  • Knowledge of inventory techniques.
  • Should be of a smart appearance and articulate.
  • Knowledge of word and excel, email and general computer systems
