International Collections Executive

Moreton Smith is an award-winning debt collection agency looking for an international collections executive to join its successful commercial collections team and to manage a caseload of international collections. Our multi-lingual debt recovery team have experience of successful debt recovery in over 120 countries worldwide. Our central London offices in Barbican provide a great working environment for our valued teams of collectors, paralegals and credit controllers. Key Responsibilities:

Tasks will involve managing your own case load of UK and overseas debts on behalf of a number of corporate clients, across a range of industry sectors. You will be responsible for providing a professional telephone credit control and debt collection service, in accordance with industry best practice. You will be trained in compliance issues and data protection legislation.

Job Description:

  • Management of your own case load of UK and overseas debts on behalf of a number of corporate clients, across a range of industry sectors.

  • Proactively chase due and overdue payments, managing payment plans and escalating to legal where appropriate.

  • Meet daily call targets and monthly commission targets.

  • Adherence to data protection act, consumer credit legislation, data security and other compliance issues.

  • Negotiation of payment plans.

  • Deal with complex queries and disputes and bring these to a satisfactory conclusion

  • Maintain up-to-date records of collections work.

Qualifications, skills and experience:


  • Confident communication skills, in particular strong influencing skills.

  • A second language to native standard, either Polish or Dutch. Fluent English required.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office.

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work without the need for supervision when necessary.

  • Open to working within a flexible remit as dictated by commercial requirements.


  • Previous experience within customer service or within a credit control/debt collection environment.

  • Ability to communicate with a large number of people on many different levels.
