My client, a very successful and growing Technology Plc is looking for IT Services Manager to head up the provision of IT services to staff in the UK, Germany and Sweden. The remit of this person will be to provide and efficient, cost effective, measurable and well managed IT services across the UK and European regions. More specifically the dimensions of the role will be the following:

  • Manage a team of IT specialists across the region that is providing operational support to the general user base.
  • Manage budgets, investments as well as compliance in all manner of policies and licensing
  • Be able to respond to issues and handle escalations as and when the need arises
  • Proactively identify issues and gaps in processes as well as team culture and understand how to engage motivate and develop a high performing team.

To be successful you should have the following skills/experience:

Technical Skills:

  • Be strong in certain technical foundations and have a deep understanding on how these various technologies work and inter-relate
  1. Active Directory Infrastructure
  2. Data management and analytics
  3. IT Security fundamental
  4. Virtualisation
  • Forward looking and have a strong grasp of the technical trends, namely around the following areas:
  1. Cloud as an architectural platform
  2. Automation and machine learning

Project Management and Operations:

Have a track record in managing IT Projects:

  • Able to turn a user requirement into a project specification which can be budgeted and provide a measurable business benefit
  • Ensure that the implementation is done on time, within budget and to satisfactory quality
  • Ensure that post-project, the solution can be operationally supported by the responsible teams with agreed SLA’s and escalation/incident handling
  • Able to also fulfil project requirement as planned by other Project teams for operational handover

People and Management Skills:

  • Experienced in managing an IT Team in disparate locations and cultures
  • Managed and delivered against SLA driven requirements in terms of IT support services
  • Experienced in handling vendor, supplier relationships and be able to communicate with external clients is needed
  • Effective in communicating to all levels within the company in order to communicate policies and strategies.
