Reed Education are currently working with a great school on an exciting new role in the East London area.

Starting ASAP, the school are looking for an Inclusion Officer who is enthusiastic and experienced to join a very friendly yet hardworking team. This person will be working alongside their SENCO and other professionals including the learning mentor, specialist teacher, speech therapist, the school nurse and other agencies. This role has a significant safeguarding responsibility and requires experience and training.

The Role:

- To help raise standards of achievement and attainment for all pupils, through a focus on good attendance, parent partnership and addressing factors which may affect an individual’s progress and well being
- committed to working with children and their families in a supportive and professional way within an educational setting
- Pro-active, solution-focussed and resilient to the day-to-day challenges the post will bring
- well-organised and creative, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- To take a leading role in establishing and maintaining good and trusting relationships with parents, through sound communication and consultation procedures, both within the school and with all appropriate agencies
- To support pupil safeguarding procedures, supporting the school’s work with children subject to a social care or CIN plan, working closely with families and social care teams and by maintaining and updating safeguarding records and policies in conjunction with the Head teacher and the wider Safeguarding team
- To support appraisal reviews and CPD in line with individual performance targets and whole school priorities • To offer advice and support to colleagues regarding their training needs, in line with priorities set out in the School Development Plan, including planning and leading training and development opportunities for individuals and groups of staff or parents

What you will need:

- You will need to have Minimum GCSEs, including English and Maths, at grade A-C
- Essential, Evidence of further study to degree level
- Essential, Experience of working with parents and children from a range of backgrounds
- Essential, Proven track record of CPD with specific training to advanced level in the areas of Child Protection and Safeguarding
- Essential, Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the principles, practice and statutory requirements of equal opportunities, social inclusion, health and safety, child protection, safeguarding and SEN, to promote a culture that values diversity and difference
- You will need to have experience as an Inclusion Officer
- Strong leadership and creativity skills are preferred as new lesson resources are encouraged within the department
- You will need to be committed and dedicated to providing engaging lessons to the students
- Experience with care plans, Up to date with Safe guarding policies
- Experience in Appraisal reviews
