This London based charity is looking to recruit a Media, Public Relations and Campaigns Manager (Caring Services), to work closely with Head of Media, Public Relations and Campaigns. This would be a fixed term maternity appointment of at least 10 months.

The Media, Public Relations and Campaigns Manager (Caring Services) will develop, implement and evaluate media and public relations activity to target supporters, patients and carers, influencers and health care professionals. They will work closely in partnership with Fundraising, Caring Services and Policy directorates, with the aim of securing positive, consistent and meaningful media coverage and influencing others in line with the charity's agenda. This is a crucial role covering planned delivery of strategically relevant media coverage (online and offline) and news management - identifying opportunities for coverage and responding to the news agenda.

Duties include:
To develop, deliver and evaluate media, Public Relations and campaigns activity to support the charity's strategic aims
Develop and deliver integrated media campaigns to support the work of the Caring Services and Research departments and targeting key influencers, policy makers, commissioners, healthcare professionals and the wider public.
Support hospices to increase awareness in the local community and with commissioners
Lead on the development and delivery of a PR strategy for Research
Develop and deliver integrated communications plans to support a growth in Fundraising income
Identify issues relevant to the charity - especially keeping ahead of NHS/Government issues - and prepare responses accurately and efficiently.
Work with the Social Media Manager to identify new areas of innovation

Candidates applying will be educated to degree level or have the relevant experience. Strong knowledge of the media - print, broadcast and online. As well as excellent contacts and relationships with journalists is essential together with broad knowledge of the health sector to ensure a competitive and relevant approach to media strategy development. Ability to react swiftly to the news agenda to maximise media coverage is crucial as is experienced at developing and delivering integrated campaigns that meet their agreed targets (on and offline)
