The company seeks a new residential staff member for our Ofsted registered children’s home offering 52-week care and education to boys 11-17 years with emotional, behavioural disorders due to traumatic life experience.
The home is set in beautiful countryside close to the Sussex/Surrey border. Activities include an onsite floodlit sports area for basketball, football and tennis as well as a games room for pool, table tennis and air hockey. There is also an arts and craft studio and a fully equipped gym which is available for the boys to use outside of school hours with the support of care staff. There is also strong emphasis on outdoor learning to make the most of the surrounding country side this includes camping, bush craft and survival skills courses alongside a vast range of high octane pursuits such as quad biking and abseiling.
The role includes looking after the boys during the night period, supporting their emotional well-being, and ensuring they are safe. Shifts are 10 hours, 9.30pm to 7.30am, weekdays and weekends and there is a need to remain awake for the whole shift period. Ideally you will have previous experience of working with young people or have experience of parenting.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
