The Company

Robert Half Finance and Accounting is pleased to be working with a global business who is seeking a dynamic Credit Controller to join their team in Newbury. The ideal Credit Controller will possess or be studying towards the ICM qualification and have experience in working for a multi-national business.

The Role

The Credit Controller will be in charge of a very challenging market and large accounts which will require a very mature approach. Some of the Credit Controllers main responsibilities will include cash collection, aged debt reduction, action against late payers & unpaid direct debits, query management while delivering customer excellence. The Credit Controllers principle accountability's will include achieving the monthly cash performance target. Reducing shortfalls and ensuring dunning and late payer process is followed, Negotiating with customers to resolve outstanding issues and securing payment of overdue debt. Aged debt must be reduced in line with individual, team and departmental monthly targets, Timely identification and resolution of queries. This will involve liaison in person, by phone and written medium with internal and external customers at all levels. Monitoring the ledger to identify customers reaching credit limit - obtain authorisation to exceed limit or secure payment to reduce balance, Providing Collections Manager and Sales Department with information on late payers and issues that may prevent trading, Taking appropriate actions on unpaid accounts and preparing the legal paperwork for any accounts that need to be passed to the solicitors, Reconciliation of customer statements using MS excel to produce a concise overview of the account for the customer, Ensuring that all debts at document level are fully documented and every effort is made to ensure that business risk is minimised, be professional and show commercial awareness at all times.The Credit Controller should also have excellent organisation skills and effective communication.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is between £20,000 and £26,000 depending on relevant experience, study support for the ICM qualification, pension, Healthcare and free parking included.
