An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Accountant for a Utilities Organisation in Swindon. This is a newly created position and will be the key lead in a large scale systems implementation.

As the Project Accountant working with the Retail Finance team you will maintain project forecasts, report on actuals and provide clear commentary and analysis on project variances and performance.
You will work closely with the Finance, the Project team and other stakeholders to maintain project forecasts, report against forecast and budget whilst providing clear commentary and analysis of project performance against budgets, forecasts, milestones and initiatives.
Develop and create project plans, agreeing implementation timescales and responsibility for delivering actions with relevant stakeholders.
Advising on project costs in line with IFRS and the organisations finance policies.
Have responsibility for monthly reporting and for delivering actions with relevant stakeholders.
Track and implement delivery through regular update meetings with stakeholders, escalating risks, items requiring authorisation, or key decision making as appropriate.
Liaise with other teams to identify and share good practise.
Providing support to the Retail governance and investment committee processes.
Drive SAP project compliance to maintain forecasts and keep project information up to date.
Providing general support for Retail finance as workload allows.
As the Project Accountant you will be confident and self-motivated.
A Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Have excellent organisational skills and previous project management experience.
Be comfortable communicating with operational and financial colleagues, and the senior management team,
Have experience of building relationships across functions, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Exceptional analytical skills
A desire to develop in line with the role and will be able to provide professional advice and guidance in the decision makings.
In addition to this a successful candidate will possess strong commercial awareness within a project environment and be confident with using finance systems and packages (especially SAP).
c£50k-£55k dependant on experience.
