Every1Mobile is a mobile services and technology company which designs, builds and runs large digital social impact programmes across sub-Saharan Africa and other emerging markets. The Role

Every1Mobile is looking for a BI Developer to maintain and help evolve the organisation’s data delivery and reporting. Candidates must have full BI lifecycle experience from design, development of a multi-datasource ETL framework and platform through to supporting and fulfilling end-user reporting and analytics requirements via dashboard data visualization. Candidates will have substantial prior experience working with a major full-stack BI Platform, preferably Sisense.

The BI Developer will work within Every1Mobile’s BI platform, Sisense, to design, build and maintain Every1Mobile’s BI infrastructure, artefacts and objects, reporting and visualisation front-end dashboards, and will provide guidance and support to business users. The daily activities for this position include consulting with business users to understand BI requirements, design, development, documentation and debugging of data warehouse objects, ETL packages, and dashboard reporting solutions.

The BI Developer will report to the Technical Service Manager.

Responsibilities

Data warehouse/ETL management

Work with various operational roles within company to plan and gather BI metrics / dimension requirements based on briefing of reporting / analytical objectives

Works with mySQL developers to specify requirements, planning, design and implementation of E1M mySQL databases with respect to BI ETL and reporting needs

Responsible for ETL design and development including cleaning and transformation of mySQL data, and merging with other data sources within the BI platform to generate required metrics and dimensions for use in dashboards

Responsible for specification, ingestion, storage, management of external non-mySQL data sources, e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Insights for subsequent integration within BI platform

Data Presentation and Visualisation

Responsible for design and development of BI data dashboards and visualizations using E1M’s BI platform, Sisense, to meet analytics and reporting requirements

Business User Support

Provides dashboard usage training to business users

Responsible for BI Platform issue resolution and troubleshooting

Responsible for administration of BI User Management and Access Rights / Credentials

Required Experience and Skills

Essential

Minimum of two years design and development experience with Sisense or similar BI Platform (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview etc), including

2+ years ETL development experience

2+ years BI Dashboard design experience

Middleweight mySQL developer (3 years experience minimum)

Previous employment experience in B2C/B2B web services production

Expert understanding of Web Analytics platforms, relevant metrics and measurement methods (including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights)

Experienced in working within an Agile development environment

BA/BS degree in computer science, information technology or related field

Analytical, numerate thinker

Proactive and collaborative team player

Desirable

Understanding of statistical models and research methods

Experience working in International Development sector
