Wayleave Officer (514899) Location: Inverness, Highlands & Islands £30,432 - £40,190 depending on skills and experience Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is part of the SSE group which owns and operates two electricity distribution networks and one transmission network, comprising of some 123,000 substations and 127,000 kilometres of underground cables and overhead lines and delivers power to 30% of the UK's landmass, serving 3.5 Million customers. Due to our continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Wayleave Officer to join our team based in Inverness. As a Wayleave Officer you will be responsible for securing all necessary consents for the installation of electrical apparatus for SSEN customers and network security for large scale projects, new connections, refurbishment and minor works to enable the cost-effective and timely construction of electricity cables, lines and plant ensuring that all statutory and environmental obligations are complied with. In the role you will prepare and secure all associated statutory and planning consents and agree conditions acceptable to SSEN through detailed negotiation skills and knowledge, agreeing access routes with landowners and occupiers, negotiating damage claims and promoting safe working practices when out on site. To be successful in this role you will require experience in a similar role. You will have good business knowledge with an understanding of how SSEN’s key functions fit together and a commercial understanding of how a Wayleave Officer can impact the business. You will have established knowledge of agricultural practices, forestry, environmental legislation, sea and land rights. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a real passion for providing exceptional levels of customer service. You should also have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and excellent organisational and team working skills. Closing date for applications Monday 4th December 2017.
