We are currently recruiting for an Employer Assessor to join our Work Experience Health and Safety team.

Your role will require you to visit local organisations to carry out suitability checks with regards to health, safety and welfare prior to students taking part in work experience placements. You will agree job role descriptors with employers to ensure that all risks are identified along with suitable control measures, providing a safe environment for all students.

This role requires somebody with exceptional communication and relationship building skills as you will be required to identify other services which we can offer employers, e.g. support the recruitment of apprentices, as well as other opportunities for employers to engage with young people in schools and colleges.

The ideal candidate will hold a current NEBOSH qualification and have extensive experience of completing health and safety risk assessments.

We are also inviting applications from individuals who have an interest or background in Health and Safety and are passionate about creating positive opportunities for young people. This individual may be offered the opportunity to gain an IOSH and NEBOSH qualification in the future.

Key duties:

    To contact employers, set up visits to assess the risks and controls in place to ensure the safety of students prior to them undertaking a work experience placement. To advise employers on the guidance provided for them concerning health and safety, child protection and data protection. To agree with employers the types of placement opportunities and learning outcomes which they can offer to students and assess the risks and controls in place.To create and maintain successful professional relationships with employers with the purpose of growing the number of work placement and apprenticeship opportunities available.To offer other services to employers which LEBC could provide; recruiting young people to meet apprenticeship opportunities which they may have; enabling each employer to get involved in activity to support their corporate social responsibility or staff development; offering a training service to employers concerning basic health and safety awareness.To complete the on line pro forma which records the role descriptor and risks and controls in place to a high level of accuracy and detail.To meet employer visit targets, which will be agreed with the manager.
This post is home based, although you will be required to attend the office on occasions. We are interested in hearing from individuals looking for both full time and part time work (4 days). Additional benefits include 25 days holiday entitlement and company pension.
