Complex Carer
£11.50 to £12.50 per hour

Peritus Healthcare are currently seeking to recruit a highly competent and experienced Complex Carers for our client in Headington.
Our client offers a wide range of specialist community services for those with life changing, chronic and/or degenerative neurological conditions.
They also provide specialist services for those who have sustained serious or catastrophic injuries such as brain injury (including injury sustained at or around the time of birth) and spinal cord injury.
You will be required to work under the direction of registered health care professionals and other parties involved from the Case Manager to the Rehabilitation Assistant to provide a consistent approach in delivering rehabilitation support.

Work effectively as a member of a team in providing rehabilitation support.
Use therapeutic skills to engage clients in therapeutic activities to reduce the impact of impairments, promoting independence and improving well-being.
Under supervision of the case manager and the rehabilitation assistant, facilitate and participate in planned activities, ongoing assessment and adjustment of own clinical interventions based on the fluctuating needs of the clients.
To teach and Role Model use of Compensatory Aids and systems to clients, optimize the client’s functional ability and independence.
Gather and accurately record information about clients.
Contribute to formal therapy assessments, under guidance of a registered therapist and provide feedback on the client’s performance.
Assist in the implementation, evaluation and modification of clients Care pathway and rehabilitation objectives.
Under supervision of your line manager, provide a range of activities; instructing and guiding clients to support them in achieving identified goals.
Undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.
Form therapeutic relationships with clients and communicate with them in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture.
Report effectively to the team on client’s performance.
Ensure that up-to-date written records are maintained with the guidance from the Rehabilitation Assistant/Case manager.
Review and reflect on own practice and performance through regular participation in professional supervision and appraisal.
Participate in ongoing training and education as dictated by your line manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

Similar experience of this role is desirable, but full package specific training is provided along with ongoing 24/7 support from our clients Senior Nurse team.
Experience carrying out PEG Feeding
Experience in Complex Care
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (Desirable)
