Overview:

We are on the lookout for a highly motivated and talented PHP developer to join our growing business. You will be responsible for the production of Workbooks’ website, taking ownership of the full development cycle from CMS setup, integration and front-end coding to optimisation, deployment and on-going support.

Technically minded with good interpersonal skills and a natural attention to detail, you will have the ability to communicate with non-technical colleagues to implement new functionality and propose innovative solutions to requirements.

Additionally, a keen interest in digital and tech industries is needed to help Workbooks stay up-to-date with best practices and opportunities to ensure we are a leading presence.

What you’ll be doing:

    Primarily maintaining and extending our Drupal based website and community sites, including the development of custom PHP extensionsAnalysis, specification, design, development and testing of PHP applications that integrate with the Workbooks platform and third-party applicationsWorking with the Service Delivery team to clearly define requirements for customer application developmentPro-actively provide guidance and suggestions for improvements to the website implementation and functionality
Your Skills and Experience:

Essential:

    Expert knowledge of PHPProven ability to develop Web Applications using HTML/CSS, JQuery/AJAX, PHPFull Software Lifecycle Experience. (Specification, Implementation & Testing)Attention to detail and a high standard of workExperience of one or more Content Management Systems. Use of source code control systems, such as Github or SubversionA willingness to learn new skills and ‘go the extra mile’Good interpersonal skills and a being a team playerProblem solving, task prioritisation, communication, administration and organisation skills
Bonus points for:

    Knowledge of Drupal version 8LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP) experienceAbility to use Photoshop/GIMP and such software
