This is an exciting time to join British Engineering Services as a member of the Consultancy Team as we are about to embark on a programme of change, designed to optimise efficiency, streamline our processes and improve our customer interactions.

What would you be doing?

You will be a technical expert, specialising in the pressure discipline. Working with a team of industry experts at our Manchester office, you will perform various design reviews/assessments of pressure equipment to ensure design codes have met the required standards (e.g. EN13445, PD5500, ASME, PED, PSSR).

You will be issuing final product/system certification and giving advice on pressure system related issues, which will enable our clients to carry out their business to the highest standards. You will use a variety of software, hand calculations and finite element analysis to achieve your goals. The role will involve keeping up with the latest pressure industry trends, design codes and legislation and you will be required to grow and rise to new challenges that are presented to you.

You must be able to work in a team to discuss complex issues, but also be able to work independently with the ability to find solutions and make decisions on challenging situations. You will also be responsible for contract management and will be able to work with our clients to ensure their expectations are met and our operational results are delivered.

This is a full-time role and every day will bring new challenges, you will: -

Complete design reviews to ensure customers' documentation complies with relevant standards Manage contracts efficiently and to service standards, targets and time scalesEnsure your technical knowledge is regularly reviewed and updatedEnsure compliance with regulatorsProvide customers with a timely response Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers and other departmentsProvide pricing within the consultancy operating licence frameworksWhat are we looking for?

You’ll have a solid understanding of pressure systems and offer substantial experience working on pressure equipment –i.e. pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipework, skid packages and associated equipment.Resilient and tenacious with the ability to use your problem-solving skills to resolve issues and queries. Have a thorough understanding of the Engineering discipline and an appreciation of the legal and regulatory framework in which operates. Most importantly you will be prepared to go the extra mile and get stuck in wherever you are needed.What experience and qualifications are we looking for?

HNC/D or equivalent in a relevant Engineering disciplineIdeally, candidates will be educated to Degree level in Engineering and/or offer Chartered statusThorough knowledge of Pressure Systems and Equipment –Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pipework, Skid Packages and Associated EquipmentKnowledge of all pressure related regulations including but not limited to: PED, PSSR, ASME 8 Div 1 Div 2, ASME other Design SectionsWhat do we offer you?
