Band 7 Respiratory Nurse Specialist(or band 6 depending on experience) for the Respiratory Specialist Team

Located in the vibrant city of Bristol, in the new Southmead Hospital, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Respiratory Nurse Specialist to become a member of the Respiratory Specialist Team.

The Respiratory Specialist Team delivers several services including Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Early Supported Discharge/Admission Avoidance Service for COPD patients (7 day service), Home Oxygen Assessment Service, Hospital Inpatient referrals and autonomous outpatient clinics within the field of Respiratory Medicine.

The role is based at Southmead Hospital and Cossham Community Hospital and within the community in patients’ homes.

The candidate should have a sound knowledge of respiratory conditions, experience of treating respiratory patients, and recognising their specific needs. They must be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Work includes patient and non-patient contact duties. The candidate must hold a full driving licence.

The successful candidate will be supported by a dynamic team who are continually developing a successful service within the acute trust and linking with local CCG’s.
