Devon Lodge is a 12 bed residential home for adults with autism and severe learning difficulties often accompanied by complex needs and challenging behaviour.
Person-centred planning is at the heart of everything we do, based around specific individual needs of adults in our care. We understand that consistency and continuity of care is important for the people we care for.
The house is located in Hedge End, Southampton. Devon Lodge is set in a large garden with rest and recreation areas. Perimeter fencing and automatic gates provide a safe and secure environment for the young people - yet not at the expense of a homely, comfortable atmosphere. Devon Lodge is situated in the heart of a busy local community. Transport links within walking distance make the wider community easily accessible and the local shopping precinct is just around the corner.
Community integration is a vital aspect of our individualised programmes. At Devon Lodge the use of local amenities such as shops, public transport and leisure facilities is part of our residents` daily life.
In this role you`ll:
• Build professional relationships with the residents and staff at your establishment and throughout the company
• Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence
• You will be able to communicate effectively with outside agencies to promote the service
• Be responsible for working as part of a team and growing the staffing requirements to meet the needs of residents
• Conduct and effectively manage the staff team in the absence of the Registered Manager
We're looking for people who have:
• A proven track record of managing Learning disabilities, Autism or challenging behaviours
• Outstanding staff management and organisation skills
• Familiarity with - and the ability to apply - CQC, the Mental Health Act and other professional regulations
• Good presentation and report writing skills
• A Level 3 QCF Qualification
• Ability to undertake on call duties on a rota'd basis
• A minimum of 2 years` experience in a management/ supervisory experience in a care setting
