Our client is one of the leading specialist care providers in the UK, providing treatment and care covering Mental Health services for young people (CAMHS) and adults, Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Learning Disabilities and Children Specialist Services.
The Hospital offers children and young people with mental health needs a tranquil environment where they can recuperate and recover.
It has three units to look after children and young people with eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia; other complex mental health conditions, such as bipolar disorder
As Head of Nursing you will work with the multi-disciplinary leadership team in developing and delivering the CAMHS Service of the highest quality to patients and their families.
Duties

You will lead and manage the nursing and care staff to ensure patients receive care that is safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led.
Promote a culture of openness and responsiveness within the Hospital, a philosophy of person-centred care and recovery, and an ethos of positive learning from incident within a high performing service.
Be able to balance the philosophy with a passion for co-ordinating and leading patient safety.
Lead and continually improve quality across the hospital, ensuring it is embedded as a day to day responsibility of all members of staff.
Support the Head of Quality in the development of an on-going quality improvement plan that encompasses the organisations values, quality priorities, and staff and patient views.
Actively promote, develop and secure a quality improvement culture by improving knowledge and understanding of managers and staff through effective training and staff engagement programmes.
Ensure that the service investigates, reports on and reviews all serious incidents in a timely way, providing quality assurance of incident reporting and learning systems throughout the hospital site and other hospitals in the group.
Support the Hospital Director and Head of Quality to initiate, develop, implement and evaluate and maintain a comprehensive patient safety / incident management process across the full range of the Hospital’s activities.
Communicate effectively on a wide range of matters, including highly complex and sensitive advice with patients, families and the multi-disciplinary team and external professionals to ensure an open and transparent culture.
Liaise with all relevant stakeholders including clinical leads, senior management team, CQC, GP’s, NHS England, NHS Wales and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG).
Chair the Serious Incident review meeting when required to ensure all SI’s are investigated, action plans are developed and monitored.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with current registration (Mental Health, Adult, Child)
In depth knowledge of the clinical governance agenda including health and safety, clinical risk issues and quality initiatives
Experience of managing change whilst also maintaining and developing the provision of high quality, patient responsive service
A working knowledge of Mental Health Legislation, the Children’s Act, Mental Capacity Act, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and all other relevant legislation and policies.
Leadership / management qualification
