A well-established Ecommerce based firm in London are looking for an Assistant Accountant to cover maternity leave in the finance department and to work closely with their office administrator. You will be working in their head office, surrounded by the latest products, as well as a dog or two!

The core of this job is overseeing the purchase and sales ledger as well as performing daily bank reconciliations.

As an Assistant Accountant, your main duties will include:
  • Managing payments to their long list of quirky supplies.
  • Dealing with queries that arise on purchase invoices.
  • Looking after the trade sales ledger, making sure payment is received on time.
  • Ensuring that any payment problems are resolved promptly.
  • Ensuring accounting records are accurate and up to date.
To be a successful Assistant Accountant, you will have the following skills and experiences:
  • Previous accountancy experience with a good understanding of VAT, purchase ledger and sales ledger.
  • Competent with using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience using Sage, or similar accounting software.
  • Good communication either in person, by email, or over the phone.
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise their own work and get on with things.
  • Fantastic attention to detail
  • Number literate

In return, an Assistant Accountant will receive a salary of £20,000 - £22,000
