Learning Support Assistant job | Complex Medical Needs Support | First Aid Trained | Hackney | Immediate Start

Your new company
You will be working for a large mainstream Primary School based in the bustling area of Hackney supporting a child with complex medical needs. The Primary School has excellent support systems in place for their staff members and have outstanding teaching practices.


Your new role
You will be a Learning Support Assistant to work within a KS1 class supporting a child with complex medical needs. The job will involve supporting the child in their everyday activities and assisting them to and from lessons. You will keep daily and weekly reports on the progress of the child and report back to both the SENCo and parents as well as work closely with an Occupational Therapist to ensure the child is getting the most effective support needed. You will also be required to administer medication. During class times you will also be required to offer class support whenever necessary, however your main responsibilities will be to support the child on a 1:1 basis and ensure that their medical needs are met.


What you'll need to succeed
You will be Paediatric First Aid trained, be confident supporting children with medical needs and SEN as well as having previous experience of working in a similar role, preferably in a Primary school setting, you will be very confident and articulate and have an excellent understanding of the UK National Curriculum and child safeguarding and protection procedures.
