Our team is growing, so we are on the lookout for a talented Technical Engineer to join our Operations Team, based at our Aldershot office.

The purpose of the Technical Engineer will be:

To work within the Internal IT team, working on hardware, communications and operating systems, provide a prompt, friendly and professional service to SSP’s Global IT users in relation to network administration, documentation and testing.

We’d like to meet a Technical Engineer with experience in the following -

- SharePoint 2010 Administration and Management
- Microsoft Exchange Server Administration 2007, 2010
- VMware ESXi Implementation, Administration and Migration
- SQL Server
- Microsoft Office 365
- WSUS Management and Administration
- WDS Management and Administration
- Backup Exec 2012/2010
- McAfee Antivirus, DLP
- SCCM Operating System Deployment

The Technical Engineer responsibilities include:

- Assisting in release management and technical integration processes for projects
- Investigating and solving technical problems and long-term outstanding issues for internal business units
- SAN/Cluster Administration including data restore
- Exchange Server, Virtual Server and SharePoint Administration
- Group Policy Management
- Performing backups and checking of automated backups (Symantec Backup Exec)
- Hardware installation and configuration
- Applying software updates
- Active Directory Design and Administration
- Documenting systems and their configuration
- Documenting process and procedure
- Routinely health checking systems and software
- System performance monitoring and reporting
- Working as part of a team in resolving issues
- Demonstrating an excellent customer service focus when dealing with internal customers
- Investigating new products and technologies, which have the potential to improve or enhance existing products and services. This will either be pro-actively or as required by the Manager
- Serving as a technical resource by providing support to multiple projects and business units
- Providing technical assistance and support, either formal or informal, for more junior team members and mentor new and inexperienced team members as required. Also provide technical training to colleagues as required
- Covering specific responsibilities of the Technical Services Manager as and when required
