Clients and workOur clients are from various industries (such as health & pharma, retail & consumer, industrial products, energy/ utilities/ mining, financial services, and telecom/ media/ technology) as well as Private Equity (PE). The deals we advise on vary from small domestic to global multi-billion pounds transactions. We advise our clients throughout the whole deal cycle from due diligence to integration and separation planning and execution, as well as post deal business and cultural transformation. Post-acquisition performance improvement and transformationKey SkillsAs a Senior Manager / Manager in the People in Deals team you will be the bedrock of our delivery – this involves:
Developing deep and ongoing client relationships in organisations and use your knowledge of the transaction lifecycle to develop sell-on opportunities
You have a deep knowledge in both people and HR matters on a transaction, with a focus on the post-deal space
You comfortably work under the pressure and tight deadlines of a deal environment
You work effectively within cross-functional teams, bringing your HR / People expertise to a variety of business challenges
You work with teams to develop and enhance compelling propositions to take to clients (either for sell-on opportunities within existing projects, or for new client opportunities)
You actively coach and develop colleagues, seeking feedback to improve your own technical and interpersonal / presentation skills and enhance your practice
You are a subject matter expert on the in-deal and post-deal space with knowledge and experience of both the ‘soft’ (culture change, change management and communication and talent management) as well as the ‘hard’ and more technical aspects of a deal (organisation design, people transition and labour / industrial relations)
You have 5 years or more experience working on deals across both integration and carve-out
For the senior manager roles we would additionally look for a min. of 3-5 years of professional services experience, and particularly a strong business development track record
You have worked effectively within teams of consultants as the HR / People subject matter expert or project lead and have managed successful workstream delivery to time and of a high quality
You have worked directly with the HRD and senior HR stakeholders to shape the HR / People activities across an integration or separation programme, acting as a trusted advisor and providing insight and lessons learned to your client
You have worked with clients to scope the HR activities on transactions, and have experience of winning new business and pursuing on-sell opportunities
You have been a people leader / performance manager and / or coached and developed client or internal teams to better perform. You give ongoing and immediate feedback to upskill colleagues and manages, and can effectively manage upwards
You have experience across all key areas of the HR / People workstream in a deal, with a focus on in-deal and post-deal activities: both the ‘soft’ (culture change, change management and communication and talent management) as well as the ‘hard’ and more technical aspects of a deal (organisation design, people transition and labour / industrial relations)
As deals become more complex (cross border, assets swaps etc) the people elements become ever-more important. PwC recognise this and the People in Deals business has been given licence to grow
The People in Deals team are looking to grow against an aggressive target, growing opportunities internally within our successful Delivering Deal Value (DDV) team, but also seeking out new market opportunities
The Senior Manager / Manager role is key to delivering our growing pipeline of projects and providing ongoing support and guidance for our growing team, particularly on big, complex deals which are often multi-country / global integrations and separations.
This role will be key to imparting skills and knowledge to our graduates and Senior Associates on transactions and upskilling our wider transaction colleagues on the important of people issues in deals
This role will continue to have access to some of the most interesting and challenging projects within PwC, as you help shape the people agenda for clients undergoing transactions

Critical requirements are:Experience in a professional services organisation at Manager grade
HR / Change manager role, for example HRBP / Change Lead, in industry on major transformational programmes / deals
For senior manager, we will look for a min. of 3-5 years of professional services experience, and a strong business development track record
Experience of people workstreams in deals (both integrations and separations)
Highly developed communication skills
Good Microsoft office skills (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
University educated (2:1 degree or higher)
For senior manager: Previous Manager level or higher at a professional services firm for 3-5 years
For manager : Either manager / senior end assistant manager in a professional services; or a HR / Change manager role, for example HRBP / Change Lead, in industry in a transformational / deals setting
