I am actively recruiting to an Obsolescence Engineer contract opportunity to be based with a large defence organsiation in Portsmouth. This is a contract that will run initially until end of November 2018; paying £33.50 ph ltd.
The role will be the main point of contact for all obsolescence engineering activities across maritime projects. This will include proactive and reactive resolutions of obsolescence issues; including management of configuration and control aspects of the process. You will plan; execute and resolve issues; work with suppliers and OEMs; carry out technical analysis; prepare reports and make recommendations to support the resolution of obsolescence issues.
The ideal candidate will have strong background in ILS/Obsolescence Management; with solid understanding of BS 62402, and JSP 886. You will have strong appreciation of MOD/Maritime systems; with strong IT skills. You will have strong analytical skills; and confidence to make correct trade-off decisions.
