Based in the heart of Sheffield’s manufacturing hub close to junction 34 of the M1, we’re ideally placed to deliver a highly professional service to customers worldwide. We are now at a vital point in our evolution with tough but achievable expansion plans and now need to recruit for the new position of Assistant Engineering Project Manager

Reporting to and working closely with the Programme Manager you will be responsible for helping to run projects on a daily basis. Key tasks will include:

• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors

• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

• Ensure resource availability and allocation

• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress

• Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule and costs

• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

• Report and escalate to management as needed

• Perform risk management to minimize project risks

• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

This varied role in a rapidly growing business in a high tech green industry would suit you if you have the following attributes:

• Pro-active, innovative with the ability to thrive in challenging environments

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

• Experience with a variety of production processes and equipment

• Ability to work under pressure to manage specific details to tight deadlines

• Ability to prioritise, organise and liaise across all departments

• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business

• Possess excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic

• Excellent MS project & Microsoft Office skills

• Ideally you will have an engineering, maths, or physics qualification

Starting salary will reflect the level of project management and engineering experience and is likely to be in the region of £25,000 to £30,000.
