You will complete a work based Childcare NVQ level 2 or 3 qualification, which will last 12-16 months. Depending on previous qualifications you will also complete Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT.
Duties & Responsibilities:
·To support nursery practitioners and work as part of the nursery and playwork teams
·To provide high quality childcare and education
·To assist in the planning and implementation of activities for the children in the area you are working in
·To work alongside staff ensuring a safe environment for all children, staff and visitors to the setting
·To be flexible and help where needed
·To undertake domestic duties, change children when needed and prepare snacks
·To work to the policies and procedures of the setting, support the safeguarding procedures & maintain confidentiality at all times
·Confident, clear telephone manner
·Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
·Enthusiasm for learning and working with children
·Good oral and written communication skills
·Well mannered, punctual and reliable
·Excellent career progression
·Warm and friendly atmosphere
·Possibility of working towards permanent position
Working Hours - Monday – Friday, between the hours of9am – 5.30pm, on average 37.5 hours per week
Salary - Apprenticeship salary of £3.50 per hour
