Finance Assistant – Bournemouth – Full Time, Permanent - £16,500 pa

Are you a confident user of finance related online software?

If so, we are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance department at Redlands in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will be a team player who is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to providing support to a busy accounts team. You will need to be accurate, well organised, have demonstrable experience of using spread sheets and accounting software with a can-do attitude.

About Us

Wessex Education Shared Services Ltd (WESS) is a pioneering shared service company operating in a Further Education environment. We provide a wide range of services to our two Member colleges: Brockenhurst College and Bournemouth & Poole College. The services we supply to both colleges with includes finance and accounts, payroll, HR and IT services. The support services we offer the colleges help ensure students receive a great learning experience and staff are supported effectively to perform their roles.

The Role

The purpose of this Finance Assistant role is to process and reconcile income-related transactions and report to member colleges and WESS in accordance with relevant service levels, ensuring accurate and timely processing, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance with entities’ Financial Regulations, policies and procedures. Duties will include inputting manual payments; process IFT and petty cash journal; Carry out Direct Debit processing, investigate and follow up and respond to customer enquiries; Maintain debtor categorisations, and carry out administration in relation to student loans.
