As a Quality Engineer with a special mix of materials knowledge, a range of technical quality skills and the ability to manage a small team can you drive this team forward and make a difference?

This newly created Quality EngineerTeam Leader role brings together your full range of quality engineering skills supplemented with the very recent arrival of a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) which you will be able to make full use of in this successful electro-mechanical engineering business.

What you will be doing as the Quality Engineer Team Leader:

·You will be managing the company Process Standards fulfilling the incoming inspection role, approving materials, in-process production right through to finished products

·You will be able to set up sample inspection production quality for components using Ax coverage groups to ISO 3951-1:2013 including acceptance quality limit (AQL)

·Adapting inspection measuring devices and procedures where necessary, equally you could be designing jigs and fixtures for multiple batches, single inspection and first article inspection.

·Programming the new Coordinate Measuring Machine CMM for single parts, batches and first article inspection. As well as manually using gauges, statistical tools and working closely with and reviewing vendors systems

·Documentation and traceability are key elements to high quality manufacturing so you’ll be reviewing data, completing logs and reports, summarising re-work and waste, raising NCR’s and corrective actions through to material approvals

·Supervising a small team, you will be developing their skill set, ensuring KPI’s are set and met, and contribute to the department in areas such as cost reduction, quality improvements and overall raising goods in and finished product efficiency

·Health & Safety, supporting the manufacturing business, liaising with vendors and much more

Skills and qualities to be the Quality Engineer Team Leader

·Likely to be a qualified engineer e.g. materials, mechanical, electromechanical, you will be able to interpret technical drawings, use a CAD design systems (Solid Works) and demonstrate an understanding of 3D geometric tolerancing

·Proven ability to manage a small team, their time and experience of prioritising incoming work against resource available and be capable of acting in a supervisory capacity regarding quality related activities across the whole manufacturing business.

·So really good communication skills and the drive to achieve goals and objectives means you’ll be self-motivated and influential, IT literate and very organised.

·Ideally you should have an understanding of SPC, tools and methods along with machining/manufacturing techniques and process’s.

·The ability to program CNC machines would be a real bonus but is not essential.
