This is an opportunity to join the national agency for contemporary craft, responsible for advancing craft in the UK. They harness the power of craft to inspire new audiences, champion new makers and support new making. They are committed to supporting artists and enterprises to flourish creatively and commercially.

This maternity cover is a standalone role based in Newcastle at their first 'regional' work space allowing them to broaden their reach and deliver their programmes across the north and in Scotland. The job entails frequent travel, including overnight stays and monthly trips to the London office.

They would welcome applications from candidates either looking for a Fixed Term Contract or on a Freelance basis.

Applications need to be received by midday on 8th January 2018. Successful candidates will need to be available for interview in Newcastle on 18th January 2018 with a start date in early March 2018.

Main Objectives:

- Manage effective, high-quality delivery of their talent development initiatives including workshops, 1:1 advice surgeries and Hothouse.
- Build productive collaborative relationships with cultural, business and education partners.

Main Duties:

- Deliver, manage and monitor the Hothouse programme, with responsibility for programme delivery, budget management, supporting external trainers and facilitators, and liaising with programme partners.
- Deliver and monitor workshop activities, working with colleagues to shape and promote each event.
- Promote and undertake 1:1 advice surgeries. Identifying regional partners to collaborate with so that surgery days are accessible to makers across the North.
- Build new audiences for all Talent Development initiatives with a focus on recruiting BAME makers. This will include working with specialist partners and communication channels.
- Develop and plan the future seasons of Talent Development activity.
- Facilitate monitoring and evaluation of the Talent Development programmes, ensuring accurate qualitative and quantitative data capture, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
- Build strong, positive relationships with educational, cultural and business organisations to collaborate on delivery of Talent Development initiatives and to develop support networks for makers.
- Act as a first point of contact for makers taking part in specific Talent Development initiatives, or those interested in applying, providing excellent customer service and knowledgeable support, information and guidance.
- Keep abreast of developments in contemporary craft, continuing professional development (CPD) and business development to ensure their programmes remain relevant and on the leading edge of high quality provision.
- Contribute to Talent Development research by providing intelligence on makers' needs and on other CPD and business support provision.
