Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care (Band 7) or Palliative Care Nurse (Band 6) depending on qualifications and experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Palliative Care Team providing clinical guidance and expertise to support patients and their families with complex palliative and end of life care needs.

This is a substantive post. The working hours are 37.5 hours across 5 days a week, with a plan to develop the service to 7 days a week.

You will be working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team ensuring the highest quality of individualised care is provided through direct patient support, role modelling and teaching. A sound knowledge of symptom control, specialist palliative and end of life care is essential along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an acute hospital environment. Practice innovation, experience in working autonomously is important along with knowledge and skills in complex and rapid discharge planning.

The opportunity for a band 6 development role may be offered to a candidate with relevant post registration qualifications and experience, two years of which must have been spent caring for patients with life limiting illness.
