Our client works in close partnership with local authorities, private sector funders and landowners and registered providers, and delivers thousands of much needed new homes across the country each year.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Purpose of the Role:

The main purpose of the role is to be a key member of the Regional Commercial Team in delivering profitability for the region through procurement, cost planning, control, and general commercial input through the development process.

To understand, implement and adhere to SHEQ policy and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

New Site Starts
Upon provision of technical information procure work packages and pass information to buying department for scheduling and order placementCompile and present SSB to Commercial Manager, Central Commercial Management for approvalCreate sub contract comparisons for sign offHold and lead pre start meetings with sub-contractors and issue arising minutesUpload budget to COINS systemsIssue sub contract orders with associated PAVs and schedulesPlacement of plant orders upon receipt of requisitions
Cost Management
Upon provision of sufficient technical information procure packages and produce robust SSBProvide information to buying department for scheduling and placement of material ordersObtain plant requisitions and place subsequent ordersProduce detailed cost plan for inclusion with 'Cap Ex 2'Produce pre-start budget
Monitor & Control Build Costs
Cost-to-complete' reportingSupport and assist as necessary with the group drive for efficiency savingsProvide commercial input to innovationsEnsure trade specifications are current and comply with building regulations
