Co-op Food is changing. Fast. We've got a fresh new look, a renewed sense of purpose, and we're out-performing the competition in our core convenience market. Our marketing team has a massive role to play in helping us build on this success. They're responsible for delivering campaigns that are truly customer focused, and really reflect local customer needs and demographics. Now we're looking to recruit a talented digital marketing assistant to us, and help to support our wider retail marketing and comms teams to deliver ambitious and innovative digital campaigns. If you can bring us the agile, energetic, and collaborative approach we're after, you'll have the chance to develop your skills and make a big impact with a business that always puts people at the heart of its strategy.

As a digital marketing assistant, you'll join a fast-paced and energetic team, collaborating with agencies and partners from across retail and the wider group. We'll look for you to hit the ground running- supporting multiple digital campaigns that always have the needs of our customers in mind and supplement the campaign proposition holistically. As well as supporting campaigns, you'll look at how we can improve our website, developing more engaging and customer focussed content to improve the user journey and experience. It's a hugely dynamic role, and you'll get lots of exposure to different comms, digital and marketing teams, as well as real opportunities to progress your career.

What you'll do:

  • work with agencies and contacts across the marketing and digital teams to support the delivery of campaigns, ensuring they're compliant, meet brand guidelines and in line with strategy
  • build relationships and manage the briefing process with various agencies
  • gain approval and sign off from senior stakeholders managing projects and campaigns etc.
  • work with campaign leads to assist with managing the content plan and making it more effective
  • assist with creating and maintaining a campaign content schedule
  • assist with developing the website customer journey and experience, creating engaging content and looking at how we can improve processes

To be successful, you'll have experience of developing innovative content for marketing or digital campaigns, along with the energy to manage and support multiple digital campaigns. As well as great marketing credentials, you'll also bring amazing relationship building and people skills, and the ability to think strategically- always putting the customer at the forefront of your thinking.

We'd love to speak to you if:

  • you can show evidence of doing similar work in the past (managing agencies and content is key)
  • you have experience in carrying out digital initiatives or project management
  • you've had some experience of web based content management and have an understanding of web-design principles and Google analytics
  • you can bring great stakeholder management skills, and demonstrate where you've built relationships with a range of different internal and external partners
  • you have a passion for digital marketing
  • you're experienced with excel and data entry
  • you're organised, methodical and accurate with a keen eye for detail
  • you are comfortable working with lots of different teams, gathering requirements and relaying timescales, streamlining tasks where possible to drive efficiencies and maximise impact
  • you are solution focused and approachable
  • you aren't afraid to think creatively to drive engagement amongst new and existing customers

Why Co-op?

173 years ago a group of pioneers in Rochdale came up with an idea that changed the world. They believed that when people work together, they're stronger. And when you join the Co-op, you'll become part of an organisation where principles are just as important as profits. You'll also get a competitive salary, and a benefits package that includes 27 days holiday, an annual incentive scheme, discounts on all kinds of products and services, and an amazing pension. We want to change the world all over again. Join us, and help to rebuild an iconic British brand.

We're committed to promoting equality and preventing discrimination at work. We know that simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We want to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences, and we recognise the importance of our teams reflecting the communities they serve. We're actively building diverse, inclusive teams, and we welcome applications from all people.
