Your new firm are a longstanding Chartered Accountancy firm located in Edinburgh's city centre. The firm are experiencing exponential growth and are looking to recruit an Accounts and Audit Manager which will report directly to the sole partner of the firm. Your new role
In your new role as Accounts and Audit Manager, you will be given the responsibility of managing your own portfolio of clients which will consist of a wide variety of SMEs and owner managed businesses and high net-worth individuals. You will report directly to the partner and work alongside a senior manager. You will be the main point of contact for the clients for all services conducted by the firm. You will be responsible for planning and conducting the audit process, performing effective risk control assessments as well as acquiring a good working knowledge of the clients' businesses. You will also research and analyse financial statements, and audit related issues as well as being responsible for presenting your findings clearly and will find ways to increase compliance and efficiency. Your role will be split between Accounts and Audit and you will spend a large part of your time managing the team of 5 and reviewing their work. The workload can be very flexible so if you have a preference towards audit or accounts, then you can decide on how you want to split the work with the senior manager.


What you'll need to succeed
You must be CA/ACCA or equivalent qualified and have experience managing your own portfolio of clients. You must have proven experience as an auditor and have in-depth understanding of auditing practices. It is particularly beneficial if you have experience auditing charities. You will have up to date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as well as being proficient in accounting software, as well as MS Office. You will have strong analytical skills and well as a keen attention to detail. The main focus of the firm is providing a superior service to their clients and you must be dedicated to achieving this.
